Chris joined the Hurricanes family in 2015 as part of the U12 Boys Coaching Staff and has been involved ever since. Coaching at the U12,14,16 and 19 levels has been highlighted with an Ontario Basketball Association Division 11 title in 2019.
Since 2016, Chris has been involved with the Hurricanes Boys Summer Day Camp and has been the lead facilitator of the camp since 2017. Chris and his wife Jackie are currently lead facilitators the Hurricanes House League program.
Chris' son, Isaiah, is a member of the Hurricanes Hall of Fame 10 Year Membership, as a ten year player - a rare feat. Isaiah was also the Naismith Award winner in 2023.
Chris currently sits on the Hurricanes Executive Board as President.
Michael started coaching with Hurricanes during the 1994/1995 season as an Assistant Coach with the U14 Division "A" silver medalists. Since then he has coached an additional 32 teams, 26 with the Hurricanes, 23 as head coach and 3 as an assistant. One of his proudest achievements is the number of former athletes who have since coached with the organization, sharing his love of the game.
Michael's love of the game travels across all parts of the game; coach, fan, recreation player (former), official, official coach. Let's go Hurricanes, Blue Devils and Raptors!
He has been an OABO official since 1989 and officiated at 7 OFSAA high school championships. Michael is currently the Referee Coach for Muskoka-Parry Sound Board of Approved Officials and has evaluated officials at OFSAA "AA" Girls in Huntsville (2017) and "A" Girls in North Bay (2018).
