Rep/OBA TEAMS

These competitive, traveling teams play in the Ontario Basketball League (OBL). Games in the OBL are organized by the Ontario Basketball\ Association (OBA) and a schedule can be seen on the OBA website. It is the goal of the Hurricanes Rep teams for their players to have fun, improve and be competitive through commitment and hard work.

The Hurricanes run teams for both boys and girls ranging from under age 12 (U12) to under age 19 (U19). The seasons for each team run at various times throughout the school year.

House League

The Hurricanes are proud to offer this program for our youngest age groups. House League is a fun filled basketball program for brand new players, more experienced players or those looking to work towards Rep team opportunities. Athletes from grades 4-8 are welcome and are split into grade level groups - grades 4-6 and grades 7-8. The program entails an introduction to basketball rules, individual skills and team concepts.

Feb 4^th Announcement

All game rentals through Trillium Lakelands School Board are now re-instated meaning that all scheduled practice (and game) times are back on. Thank you for your patience.

Reminder of the school board use rules:

Self screening for symptoms daily
Mask wearing when not participating athletically
All users to be double vaccinated plus 14 days
Change rooms are not available
Water fountains will not be available (bottle fill portion is available)
Anything brought into the facility must be brought home
No outdoor shoes in the gym

January 28^th Announcement

The Province of Ontario and Basketball Ontario have agreed to allow practices and games to happen. Unfortunately the Trillium Lakelands School Board has extended the suspension of community user groups through February 6, 2022 at 3 pm today.

Here is hoping we are back playing the week of February 7th.

January 3^rd Announcement

The Province of Ontario announced January 3rd that all indoor sports are suspended at least until January 26th. This means that all games, practices, in person meetings, etc. are not permitted until the restrictions are lifted.

The Hurricane Basketball Club wishes all of its athletes, coaches and volunteers and their families the best of luck as we navigate through this time. Be safe.

December 31^st Announcement

Trillium Lakelands School Board has announced December 31 that all gym rentals are cancelled through January 16th meaning all practices, games and clinics (in our local gyms) are off.

As we learn more we will update you.

Hopefully numbers will settle and we will be able to only miss two weeks.
