
The U19 Girls travelled to Burlington to play their first two games in the OBL (Ontario Basketball League) on Sunday December 12.
The first game was a contest against the U17 from Brampton. The Hurricanes jumped out to an early lead but were unable to pull away as they maintained their lead through the entire game, winning 54 - 40. Huntsville had an impressive 38 rebounds with Adriene Moffat (13) and Lauryn Oliver (10) hauling in the most. Riley Truax (26), Moffet (12) and Jenna Gill (6) led the team in scoring that featured swarming defense that transitioned into great offense.
The Peterborough Power were the next opponent with the Hurricanes jumping into an early lead with a suffocating defense throughout the game. Truax (23), Oliver (16) and Moffatt (6) led the team in scoring while the entire team shot an impressive 38% on shots from the floor throughout the game.
