
The U19 Hurricanes hosted the U19 Timmins Selects on Saturday April 2nd at Huntsville High School.
In the first game the Hurricanes won a closely contested game 60 - 56. Lauryn Oliver (16 points) led the home squad in scoring along with Riley Truax (14), Jenna Gill (11) and Adriene Moffatt (8). Team defense in the fourth quarter was the difference with all 10 players contributing to the win.
In the second game Huntsville fell behind early, but fought back to take a lead in the 4th quarter but eventually fell 60 - 57 to Timmins, missing on a last second 3 point attempt to tie the game. Oliver (22 points) again led the Hurricanes with Jade Solomon (8), Truax (8) and Moffat (7) again leading the team in scoring. Several missed foul shots by the Hurricanes and key makes by the Selects was the difference in the game.
The Hurricanes travel to North York for the OBL (Ontario Basketball League) on the weekend of April 9 and 10.
